EAST RUTHERFORD, United States - Zoran
Planinic, a Bosnian guard who was a first-round pick in the 2003 National
Basketball Association Draft, was released by the New Jersey Nets.
The Nets took guards Marcus Williams and Hassan
Adams in this year's draft and both figured to diminish playing time for
Planinic, who is looking at a deal with Spain's Tau Ceramica.
In 148 NBA games over three seasons, Planinic
had 2.5 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.1 assists. Last season, he averaged 2.5
points and 1.3 rebounds in 56 games.
