Basketball team for Stankovic Cup

The national men's basketball team has arrived in Nanjing, capital of eastern Jiangsu province, for the upcoming Stankovic Continental Champions Cup.

The team descended on Nanjing Wednesday afternoon. They will open the Stankovic Cup Friday night playing Germany, led by NBA star Dirk Nowitzki.

China's NBA star Yao Ming will make his first appearance after his foot injury in April. Another star center, Wang Zhizhi, is likely to remain on the bench due to his latest injury.

China will take on Brazil Sunday night.

Six teams, including continental champions, will take part in the tournament from August 11 to 15, in Nanjing.
