ST ANTON AM ARLBERG, Austria, Aug 7 - German Jens Voigt won stage six of the Tour of Germany from Seefeld to St Anton Am Arlberg in Austria and retained his overall race lead on Monday.

Second on the stage was American Levi Leipheimer, a few seconds adrift, with Kazakh Andrey Kashechkin in third.

Late attacks by Leipheimer on the final climb stripped the lead group to four with three kms left to race.

Voigt first struggled to maintain contact, but then accelerated away for his second stage win of this year's race.

The Tour of Germany finishes in Karlsruhe on Wednesday.
