China's men's football team is set to play the United Arab Emirates on October 7 as part of their preparations for the second phase of the AFC Asian Cup qualifying round.

The national team coaches gathered yesterday in Beijing to discuss the schedule for the second half of the year.

In addition, the warmup opponent on August 10 has been changed from Malaysia to Thailand, which in fact is a U-23 squad.

Team China will then face group E opponent Singapore on August 16th in Tianjin.

The two teams are set to meet again in September when China plays its away game in Singapore.

Later, China will take on Palestine in Jordan for the away game before they challenge Iraq for the last group match.

China is teamed up with Iraq, Palestine and Singapore in Group E. All four teams in this group are currently tied at three points each, with one win and one loss.
