"Beijing Guo'an and the German team have finally settled on Shao's transfer to Energie Cottbus." Li said to China's main web portal sina.com.

But neither German local media nor the Energie Cottbus official website provided details as to whether Shao will play the German Bundesliga matches or if Guo'an, Shao's club, was still talking with Energie Cottbus over the terms of the agreement.

Shao is already training with newly promoted Energie Cottbus since he passed the necessary physical examination and will be possibly presented to the media soon, the club manager told the web portal.

"The transfer means a new start for me," said the 26-year-old midfielder. "I think I am still young, and can achieve more in my career."

"Shao s transfer is permanent this time," Li said, "It is not a loan deal like it was with 1860 Munich that Shao played for before."

"The transfer fee is over 10m yuan, but it is not all in cash. As part of the deal Cottbus will coach two of Beijing Guo'an's young players for each of the three years of the contract. And Guo'an will arrange for Cottbus to come to Beijing for a friendly match."

Li added that according to the terms of the contract Shao Jiayi is free to join any other European team if he wants to leave Cottbus, but can only play for Beijing Guo'an if he returns to China.

"Everything will be done as soon as the German Premier League faxes back the last copy of Shao's contract," Li said.
