Australia Post on Monday released special stamps to celebrate the achievements the Australian team has made in the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

Players Mark Viduka, Tim Cahill, Mark Schwarzer, Harry Kewell, John Aloisi, Craig Moore, Marco Bresciano and Brett Emerton, along with coach Guus Hiddink, all feature in the sheetlet of nine 50-cent stamps.

"The Socceroos have made Australia proud through their efforts at the World Cup," Australia Post Philatelic Group Manager Noel Leahy said in a press release.

"This is a great way for Socceroos fans to remember their own journey through this momentous sporting event and to demonstrate to the rest of the world that we're proud of our team, by mailing it to friends and family overseas," he said.

At its first entry to the World Cup finals in 32 years, Australia made it through to the second round of the World Cup, only being stopped by Italy.
