RIO DE JANEIRO, June 19 -- Brazils striker Ronaldo said on Monday he
thinks he played better in Brazils World Cup match against Australia.
"I believe I played much better yesterday than at the game against Croatia.
Its good to play without any worries about anything," said the striker. "Now
I'll just have to be patient. I'm sure I'll score at the next game."
Team head coach Parreira agreed that Ronaldo's performance improved from the
opener, when the striker was substituted in the in the 69th minute.
Ronaldo was also substituted in the 72nd minute in the match against
Australia. Both times he was replaced by Real Madrid teammate Robinho.Parreira
also said he is considering resting some of its players in its last group-stage
match against Japan on Thursday.
"I'll talk to the physical department to see how the players are
recuperating," Parreira said. "I'll do what's best for the national team
thinking ahead to the round of 16."
He added that Ronaldo would likely be in the starting lineup for Thursday's
match in Dortmund.
"Probably he'll play a half, or 70 minutes again against Japan to gain
rhythm," Parreira said. "His case is different from the other players, he needs
to be playing."
