Ukraine's team in the World Cup will earn a bonus of $2.8 million if they make it out of their qualifying group, the head of the country's soccer federation Hryhory Surkis told Interfax Ukraine news agency on Tuesday.

Ukraine, making their first World Cup apperance, open their campaign on Wednesday against Spain, considered the group favourite.

Coach Oleg Blokhin says his initial objective is to make it out of the group, which also includes Saudi Arabia and Tunisia.
