The game, which was only minutes to go, was interrupted by the accident. At the moment, Brazil led Croatia 1-0 which was the final score later.

The fan was running and jumping for nearly one minute, waving his arms to the 72,000 spectators. Then he knelt down at the foot of Croatian forward Dado Prso, the most active player in the match.

A guard walked into the pitch, but the fan finally left the pitch with the persuasion of Prso who accompanied him to the advertisement boards.

Jersey No. 17 represents Croatian profilic striker Ivan Klasnic who plays for German first division side Werder Bremen. Klasnic made several brilliant shots in today's match but they were all denied by in-form Brazilian goalkeeper Dida.

As hundreds of guards set up a defense line around the pitch and they all faced the tribunes, no one knows how the fan got onto the pitch.

Thousands of Croatian fans came to watch the exciting game today.
