Many have questioned Cafu because of his age, but he is strongly supported by Brazil coach Carlos Alberto Parreira, who last month called him "experienced, not old."

"I've been working hard to be in form so I can help Brazil win another title," Cafu said.

The right back has fully recovered from arthroscopic knee surgery conducted in February.

He recently said he's not yet thinking about retirement, and that playing in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa is not out of the question.

Cafu's debut with the national team was in 1990 in a friendly against Spain, as a 21-year-old. His first World Cup appearance came in 1994, in Brazil's 1-0 win against the United States.

Brazil has been training in the small town of Koenigstein, in the wooded Taunus hills outside Frankfurt, since Monday. The defending champions spent 14 days in Switzerland before heading to Germany.

Brazil will make its Group F debut against Croatia on June 13 in Berlin. The five-time champions will then face Australia on June 18 in Munich and Japan on June 22 in Dortmund.
