Macao's World Cup stamps will be on sale from Friday, local media reported on Thursday.

The Macao Post Daily quoted Carlos Roldao Lopes, director of the Post Office, as saying that the collection of stamps is to be "sell well," as soccer is "the most popular" sport in town.

The collection, designed by local artist Wilson Chi, features a special embossed printing technique to enhance the dynamic poses of the soccer players on pitch, according to the newspaper.

The World Cup collection will be the first ever of its kind since 1999, when Macao returned to the motherland, it reported.
