FIFA Communications Division reiterated on Wednesday some important points regarding disciplinary matters during the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

A fine of CHF 5 000 will be imposed to a player for simulation or pulling an opponent's shirt, declared FIFA in a communique.

Besides, a red card (whether direct or indirect as a result of two yellow cards in the same match) will incur a fine of at least CHF 5,000, said FIFA.

If a player receives a yellow card in two matches in the same phase of the competition (i.e.group phase or knock-out phase), he will be suspended from his team's next match.

But if a player receives one yellow card in the group phase, it will not be carried over to the knockout phase.

If a player is sent off as the result of a direct red card or two yellow cards during the same match, he will automatically be suspended from his team's next match.

Any suspension (as a result of a direct red card or two yellow cards in the same match) that cannot be served during the competition will be carried over to the association's next competitive match.
