Austrian policemen in support of World Cup

Updated: 2006-06-06 09:37 Twenty policemen from all around Austria left for Munich, Germany from the police command of Salzburg, Austria on Monday.
All the selected policemen are at the age round about 20 to 30. The mission for them is to cooperate with the German colleagues for the security of the World Cup 2006. According to the Police cooperation pact between Austria and Germany, which went into effect since last December, the Austrian policemen would have same authorities as their German colleague. They will give support to the German police for the mission of security in airports, railway stations and public assemblies, as a report by Austria Press Agency. The Austrian policemen will assemble in Berlin on Tuesday, and accept an short "emergency action" training. Moreover, Austria also send two anti-steal policemen and one contact officer for traffic. |
