Zambia urged not to shun classes during World Cup

A youth oriented grouping of Zambia Sunday implored school going pupils in the country not to shun classes during the forthcoming World Cup tournament.

Zambia Association for Youths in Schools president Humphrey Monde urged youths not to done away with school because of the soccer tournament.

He said here that education must come before entertainment because concentration on the soccer tournament will translate into poor examination results.

Monde called on the pupils to be focused because education is key to personal and national development.

He also urged the parents to ensure that academic work does not suffer during the soccer tournament.

Monde urged boarding schools in the country to weigh at which time pupils should to be availed access to television sets.

He said boarding schools should ensure school work comes before any form of entertainment.
