Polish president on the World Cup

Poland president Lech Kaczynski told the media on Thursday that he was surprised with the make up of the Polish team for the forthcoming Soccer World Cup in Germany, it was reported by Polish news agency PAP.

Kaczynski said he would try to watch all the matches with the participation of Poles while the match with Germany, the host of the championship, he will watch at the stadium.

If Poland's team drops out Kaczynski will take the side of Italy.

"I will keep my fingers crossed for the Polish team despite the fact that I am aware that Poles are not bound to reach the finals during this World Cup," Kaczynski said.

"When German President Horst Koehler was in Warsaw in May we played a short soccer match. Then I managed to score a goal. Maybe this argues well." Kaczynski told the media.
