WEGGIS, Switzerland - Kaka said Wednesday he's fully prepared for the World Cup.

Kaka, who scored one of Brazil's goals in the 8-0 win against Swiss club FC Lucerne on Tuesday, said he is refreshed from the grueling European season and can't wait to debut at the monthlong competition in Germany.

"I could play tomorrow if I had to," the AC Milan midfielder said before one of Brazil's training sessions. "I'm already 100 percent ready, just a bit anxious as the opener approaches."

Kaka played with Milan until April 26, when the Italian club was eliminated by FC Barcelona in the Champions League semifinals.

Kaka scored a 19th-minute goal to open Brazil's routing of FC Lucerne in Basel, in the team's second-to-last match before heading to Germany to defend its World Cup title. Brazil will still face New Zealand on Sunday in Geneva.

Despite the easy victory, Kaka said some minor adjustments are still needed before the national team's debut against Croatia on June 13 in Berlin.

"We're getting close, but there are still some things to do," Kaka said. "We need to work a bit more on our positioning."

Kaka will be playing his first World Cup as a starter. The 24-year-old midfielder was a member of the Brazil squad that won its fifth title in 2002 in South Korea and Japan, but played only a few minutes in a first-round match. He was summoned by coach Luiz Felipe Scolari mostly to gain experience.

Kaka has scored nine goals since debuting with Brazil in January 2002 in a friendly against Bolivia. He's now a constant presence on the national team.

The five-time champions are in Group F at the World Cup along with Croatia, Australia and Japan.
