NBA stars gather for Aids awareness

Steve Nash joined LeBron James, Dirk Nowitzki, and other NBA and WNBA stars in a public service announcement raising awareness of the impact of AIDS on children.

Part of the NBA's partnership with UNICEF to support Unite for Children, Unite against AIDS, the TV ad will air during the NBA Finals in June, according to reports from New York.

NBA commissioner David Stern was joined by former Celtics star Bill Russell and current NBA players Dikembe Mutombo, Samuel Dalembert and former WNBA player Teresa Weatherspoon at a preview on Wednesday at UNICEF headquarters.

There are nine variations of the ad, which will also run in German, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish and Russian, featuring NBA stars who speak those languages: Nowitzki, Yao Ming, Pau Gasol and Andrei Kirilenko.
