Free access to World Cup highlights (CRIENLISH.com) Updated: 2006-05-31 17:09
Soccer fans will have access to free video highlights from all World Cup
matches on Fifa's website.
A two-minute video of every match at the June 9-July 9 tournament will be
available within an hour of the final whistle at www.fifaworldcup.com.
Fans will also be able to follow the action on their mobile phones, either by
downloading software from the website or by signing up for SMS alerts.
"No matter where you are in the world you will be able to follow the action
before, during and after matches," said Jerome Valcke, Fifa's marketing and
television chief, on Tuesday.
There will be a 24-hour delay in Asia and the Middle East of the website
highlights, and a 48-hour delay in Germany because of legal restrictions.
