WEGGIS, Switzerland _ Brazil striker Adriano said Thursday that his slump with Inter Milan is in the past and he is in great form ahead of the World Cup.

"I'm feeling fine," Adriano said before one of Brazil's practices. "I don't think about my past problems anymore."

Adriano was heavily criticized in Italy earlier this year for a streak of bad performances with Inter Milan, and many in Brazil questioned his status as a starter at the World Cup. Brazil coach Carlos Alberto Parreira has already assured that Adriano will play in Brazil's World Cup opener against Croatia on June 13.

"Things are different in the national team," Adriano said. "Here I'm supported by everyone."

Parreira reaffirmed he isn't worried about Adriano, who was crucial in Brazil's Confederation's Cup title last year and in the Copa America triumph in 2004.

"Adriano is a different player here," Parreira said. "He loves to play for the Brazilian national team. He feels very happy here."

Brazil will spend two weeks in Weggis preparing to defend its World Cup title. After playing Croatia, the team will face Australia and Japan in Group F.
