Czech Republic international Tomas Rosicky signed with Arsenal on Tuesday in a multi-million-dollar transfer from Borussia Dortmund.

The 25-year-old midfielder, who passed a medical in London on Monday, will join the club after playing for his country in next month's World Cup.

The length of the contract was not disclosed, with Arsenal saying only that Rosicky signed a "long-term" deal. British news reports put the transfer fee at up to $15 million.

"I'm really happy to be here at Arsenal, it is a great day for me," Rosicky said on the club's Web site. "The team showed it's strength recently in the Champions League and it has big potential with a lot of young players, I think we can be even better next season. This is the best club in Europe."

Arsenal reached the final of the Champions League, losing 2-1 to FC Barcelona. The Gunners finished fourth in the Premier League to qualify for next season's Champions League.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is looking to strengthen the side as it prepares to play next season at the new Emirates Stadium.

"He has great technique, skill on the ball and sharp passing," Wenger said. "Tomas has good experience at all levels for club and country."

Rosicky, who has 15 goals in 53 appearances for the Czech Republic, cost Dortmund $34 million when he joined from Sparta Prague in 2001. He helped the club win the Bundesliga title and reach the UEFA Cup final in his first season.
