Chinese golden pair Zheng Jie and Yan Zi have advanced into the top ten in the WTA Tour's doubles rankings.

Zheng and Yan, both from China's Sichuan Province, each moved up five places to reach numbers 9 and 10 respectively.

Their rise on the rankings is due to their outstanding performance in the women's world scene.

The pair snatched China's first doubles title in a Grand Slam event by winning the Australian Open title in January.

They took another historic title when they beat Elena Dementieva and Flavia Pennetta to win the first doubles title in a WTA Tier I tournament.

Other Chinese duo, Li Ting and Sun Tiantian, doubles champions of the Olympic Games in Athens, remain 29th and 30th in the rankings.
