NEW YORK, April 2 - China captured gold in women's
3,000-meter relay as Wang Meng got a silver in women's overall on the final
day of the World Short Track Speed Skating Championships on Sunday in
Minneapolis.

China's
winning team includes 500-meter gold and silver medalists Wang Meng and Fu
Tian while old rivals South Korea slipped to fouth place due to Jin
Sun-yu's fall onto ice.
Canada finished second and Italy third.
South Korea's Jin Sun-yu claimed the women's overall gold by picking up a
total of 68 points.
She won the 1,000, 1,500 and 3,000-meter events, while China's Wang Meng
finished second with 60 points and Canada's Kalyna Roberge took the overall
bronze medal.
South Koreans captured the men's overall gold and silver medals and the
women's overall gold.
Ahn Hyun-soo took the men's overall gold and reclaimed his world championship
title, finishing with a total of 68 points after winning the 1,000 and
1,500-meter events.
South Korean compatriot Lee Ho-suk finished second overall in the men's
competition with 60 points, with Canada's Francois-Louis Tremblay finishing
third.
Top ranked American Apolo Anton Ohno elected not to compete at the event,
held on the campus of the University of Minnesota.
In Sunday's men's 3,000-meters final, Canada's Charles Hamelin finished
first, followed by Tremblay and Oh Se-jong of South Korea.
Ahn was disqualified after hitting Lee in the back and causing him to fall on
the final lap.
Canada also won the men's 5,000-meter relay, with China finishing second and
the United States third.
Defending women's world champion Jin won the 1,000 and 3,000-meters over Wang
and American Allison Baver, who finished second and third in both
races.
