Hong Kong actress Cecilia Yip showed up with her director husband Chen Guoxi at the Royal Salute Polo Cup, held at Nine Dragons Hill, Zhejiang province, saying she loves the sport because it requires bravery and excellent skills.

With a rose-like hat and Japanese clog-style heeled shoes, she matched her one-piece evening dress with a black purse.

When asked about the rumored remake of Chinese folk legend, Madame White Snake, into another TV series, Yip joked she was against the idea as "the director did not make me the lead role".

Yip made her name by playing the lead in the TV series New Legend of Madame White Snake some 19 years ago, which was extremely popular in the early 1990s with easy-to-sing songs and heart-warming stories.

Yip's role, Xu Xian, was Madame White Snake's husband. Yip admitted there were difficulties playing a man's role, but it made her well known.

Model Jocelyn Sandstrom also showed up at the event, with her husband Anthony Sandstrom, pianist Zhao Yinyin and actress Chen Shu.
