Award-winning Chinese actor Liu Ye married Anais Martane, his French bride, at a star-studded wedding in Beijing on Sunday.

Liu's publicist said the reception was only open to family and friends, but media waited outside a swanky clubhouse near Ditan Park, where the wedding was held, to get any details on the Golden Horse Award winner's nuptials.

Photos released by Liu's agent showed that the wedding appeared to be a mixture of Western and traditional Chinese styles.

Liu, 31, began dating low-key French photographer Anais, who is based in Beijing, in late 2006.

In 2001, Liu Ye became the youngest best actor winner in the history of the Taiwan Golden Horse Film Awards for his role as the title character in "Lan Yu", Stanley Kwan's movie about two gay lovers in Beijing. His recent films include Lu Chuan's "City of Life and Death" and Zhang Yimou's "Curse of the Golden Flower".
