A man, accompanied by a friend, sets out on an adventure in order to win the heart of his imaginary lady.

Does this plot of the film "Donkey Xote" sound familiar to you?

Don Quixote, the hero created by Spanish novelist Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, seems to have been adapted for the animation movie from director Jose Pozo.

The 17th-century novel "Don Quixote", regarded as a founding work of modern Western literature, has inspired Pozo to make the light-hearted animation "Donkey Xote", which was released in Spain in 2007 and will finally roll out across Beijing cinema this Friday.

In the film, Don Quixote and his friend Sancho Panza venture to duel the "Knight of the Moon" knowing that if Quixote wins the duel, the identity of his imaginary love, Dulcinea, will be revealed. Adding humor to the 90-minute film is the fact that the story is told from the point of view of Sancho's donkey, Rucio.
