"Capote" director at helm for Oscars intro

Updated: 2009-02-06 19:03 LOS ANGELES – Bennett Miller, a best director nominee for 2005's "Capote," is directing the film segment that will open the 81st Annual Academy Awards. The Academy is promising that the intro spot will be "a celebration of the language of film and the spirit of moviemaking and will include guest appearances by some of today's moviemaking icons." Production house @radical.media is producing the segment. In 2002, the company produced the film segment that opened the 75th anniversary edition of the Oscar show. ABC will broadcast the Academy Awards live on February 22 from the Kodak Theater in Hollywood. |
