Anne Thompson of Variety states that the film is glitzy, glam and packed with eye-popping, violent action, but Bond 22 is also arty, tasteful and elegant.

According to David Edwards of Britain's Daily Mirror, Quantum doesn't feel like a Bond film at all. Not once does Craig say: "The name's Bond. James Bond." There's no Q, nor any gadgets. Bond even wore a cardigan.

Casino Royale, the first James Bond movie screened in Chinese mainland cinemas, earned more than 120 million yuan ($18 million). Craig came to Beijing to promote that film last year but could not make it this time.
