Updated: 2008-08-13 09:50
Female artist Shi Di has donated three of her newly-finished Rejoice 2008 paintings to the National Museum of China. The watercolor painting series was completed in July to usher in the Olympics. Under her vibrant and poetic strokes, Shi employs red to express her love of the motherland, yellow to symbolize the vast, yet lively, Yellow Plateau, and blue and green to represent a peaceful and harmonious Games. The Zhejiang province-native had previously engaged in gemology research before picking up the painting brush just a few years ago. She has since held several exhibitions in Beijing, Shanghai and Paris, where she now studies. The China Artists Association member's abstract works continue to fascinate audiences both at home and abroad. |
