'Grey's Anatomy' star Katherine Heigl is trying to do damage control after she said her movie 'Knocked Up' was sexist.

In the film, Heigl plays a 29-year-old journalist who becomes pregnant after a one-night stand. Contactmusic.com reports the movie was a huge hit but the actress made news for the wrong reasons when she said the film is 'a little sexist... It was hard for me to love the movie'.

But Heigl quickly released a statement defending her comments about the movie. It said she is always outspoken and her remarks weren't meant to be controversial.

She said: 'The press or the media has decided that I'm outspoken and I guess that's my angle or something. I have been this way for the last five to seven years when I started saying, 'You know, screw it, I'm not going to pussyfoot around issues anymore.'

'I kind of say what I think. And if I feel passionately about something, I will be honest about it and I don't think there's anything wrong with that.'

Commenting on her negative remarks about 'Knocked Up', Heigl added: 'It wasn't that interesting and it wasn't that outrageous.'
