A delegation representing Fujian province started a four-day visit to Hong Kong and Macao on Oct 7.

Fujian province enjoys a unique geographic location, being close to Hong Kong and Macao, with over 30 percent of Hong Kong residents and 20 percent of Macao residents coming from Fujian.

Headed by Yu Weiguo, secretary of the Fujian CPC standing committee, the delegation aims to boost communication and cooperation between Fujian and the two special administrative regions (SAR) under the guidance of the central government.

During the visit, the delegation will meet local governmental officials and businessmen, along with people from Fujian.

Fujian and the two SARs are also expected to sign agreements in the fields of the economy, trade and culture, and hold promotion fairs to promote further cooperation.
