Dongguan high-tech zone gets 11.3 b yuan worth of projects

The Dongguan Songshan Lake National High-tech Industrial Development Zone signed 18 cooperation project agreements with leading Chinese companies, worth 11.3 billion yuan, in Beijing, on May 18.

They cover the electronic information, pharmaceutical, culture, cloud computing and logistics sectors.

One of the cloud-computing projects, from Beijing Ideamov Interactive Co Ltd, involves 100 million yuan worth of investment.

It is expected to help the Songshan Lake zone become the nation’s first cloud computing base for tourism. It is a part of the nation’s key 863 Project.

The zone was designated a national technological zone, last September.

The zone said it had an ambitious target for 2015, of industrial output worth 200 billion yuan, and an annual growth rate of 50 percent.

The zone expects to see 90 percent of its output coming from the high-tech sector.

By 2015, tax revenues are expected to hit 10 billion yuan, and have an annual growth rate of 41 percent.
