Cherry blossoms for culture festival

CHENGDU - Following the success of its first cherry blossom festival last spring, the Qingbaijiang District of Chengdu, capital of Southwest China's Sichuan Province, will host the second Cherry Blossom Tourism and Culture Festival from March 30 to April 15.

Like last year, visitors to the festival will witness the blossoming of tens of thousands of cherries in the district, organizers said.

Organized by the Chengdu Municipal Government, Sichuan Provincial Tourism Administration, the Qingbaijiang District Government, the Chengdu Municipal Tourism Bureau and the Chengdu Media Group, the festival is aimed at turning Qingbaijiang into China’s largest cherry blossom base, they added.
