SHANGHAI – Chinese enterprises were called by the DEVNET Cooperation Bureau on Monday (Dec.6) to attend the Aid & International Development Forum (AIDF) which is scheduled to be held in Washingdon on June 8, 2011.

"The two-day forum will provide an international purchasing system for Chinese firms to sell products," said Li Shi'en, director of the DEVNET Cooperation Bureau.

Insiders said the system set up by the UN and its related organizations purchases goods valued at more than $100 billion annually for humanitarian aid and development, but with only two per cent coming from China.

"It was mainly caused by lack of information and a smooth trade channel. The result was that few Chinese firms accessed to the system," Li said.

At the AIDF, to be held once every year, buyers have chance to gather together with suppliers to seek trade opportunities.

"As an organizer, DEVNET will go all out to support Chinese enterprises in their trade on the world market," Li said.

He said the forum is a very efficient and low-cost sales platform for Chinese firms which can know more about the world market through seminars and communications with buyers.
