The two-day China IOT (Internet of Things) 2010 started in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province, on Thursday morning.

Organized by the Chengdu Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, Chengdu Municipal Development and Reform Commission, Chengdu Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, Chengdu Municipal Exposition Bureau, Shuangliu county government, Chengdu High-tech Zone Management Committee, Software and Integrated Circuit Promotion Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and Chengdu Internet of Things Industrial Development League, the event has the theme "Internet of Things makes you know Chengdu."

On May 14, Chengdu designated its high-tech zone and Shuangliu county as the two sites for the development of IOT.

As one of the organizers of China IOT 2010, Shuangliu will definitely make the development of IOT a top priority, said county Party chief Gao Zhijian.

His county aims to be a national IOT demonstration center for industrial research and application within three years.

It has mapped out a three-year development plan (2010-2012), seeking to attract more than 20 large companies with a total investment and annual output value surpassing 10 billion yuan.

As part of the plan, Chengdu (Shuangliu) IOT industrial zone is under construction. It will cover 3.5 square kilometers.

To finance the projects, the county government has established a 200 million yuan fund for IOT industry development.
