The Namibia government helped open Namibia Week in Shanghai on Aug 23 to echo its Pavilion Day at Expo Garden.

The opening ceremony was held at the city's Super Brand Mall with a Namibia delegation in attendance. The delegation, led by Priscilla Beukes, vice minister of Local Government, Housing and Rural Development of Namibia, consisted of 15 government officials and over 60 enterprises that have come to China to seek cooperation opportunities.

Shanghai established sister city relations with Windhoek, capital of Namibia, in 1995, as a stimulus to the cultural and economic cooperation between the two cities as well as the two countries, Beukes said.
