Fresh graduates are expecting to receive a monthly salary between 1,500 yuan ($221.3) to 2,000 yuan when working for companies in the surrounding cluster of Wuhan city. This does not include Wuhan, the capital of Central China's Hubei province, the Wuhan Evening reported, citing results of interviews at a job fair.

Wuhan city cluster refers to a group with Wuhan as the core and a diameter of 100 kilometers, including Wuhan, and eight surrounding cities, Huangshi, Ezhou, Xiaogan, Huanggang, Xianning, Xiantao, Qianjiang and Tianmen.

"A monthly salary of 1500 yuan to 2000 yuan is not high, but is enough to support myself," said Zhou, a law major, who will graduate from Hubei University this summer.

"It would be ideal if I can get 2000 yuan per month and my boarding and food covered by my employer," said Cai, an English major, who will graduate from Huanzhong Normal University in July.

Most of the Xiaogan-based companies in the job fair are willing to offer salaries to match the students' expectations, according to the Wuhan Evening.
