Foreign talents boost Jining's development

More than 200 achievements made through the work of foreign talents in Jining were showcased at a local promotion conference yesterday.

Fourteen of the 200 achievements and five bases of demonstrating these achievements were awarded.

The conference focused on achievements in agricultural, industrial and cultural circles and was attended by 81 foreign talent-backed organizations and enterprises, Xu Enli, deputy director of the Foreign Experts Affairs in Jining, said.

China Services International (Qufu), established in 2006, provides a platform for Jining to introduce foreign talents. To date, Jining has established a cooperation relationship with 30 foreign talent-related organizations.

Zheng Xinsheng, deputy director of the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, highly praised the work done by Jining on introducing foreign talents. Jining invited about 300 foreign experts from Japan, Israel, Australia, France and Germany to offer guidance on fields including vegetable planting and sea-product breeding. Their help has seen 490 new species introduced in Jining and 300 agricultural technologies updated.

The city also introduced foreign experts to serve in enterprises in such sectors as machinery, medication, textile and food processing.
