Chengdu, Sichuan province, hosted the First International Meeting Destination Development Summit on September 5 and 6.

Co-hosted by Asia Events Fortune Forum, Asia Events Media Union (AEMU) and Chengdu Municipal People's Government, the forum drew more than 200 delegates from top conference organizations and tourism administrative departments from home and abroad.

The summit consisted of a main forum, several summit talks and round table talks aimed at promoting the development of China's exhibition industry and related cities.

Respective advantages and disadvantages of China's eastern and western exhibition cities were also compared in the forum.

"Western cites should make full use of the government's supporting policy and less expensive exhibition fee. What's more, they should go out themselves and attract investment from other areas or countries for more fortune and better development", Michael Duck, vice-president of UFI, told www.chinadaily.com.cn.
