Fujian vice governor arrives in Taipei

Updated: 2009-08-11 09:02 A delegation from Fujian led by the province's vice governor, Chen Hua, landed in Songshan Airport in Taipei on August 8 to begin a seven-day exchange and inspection visit on the island. "As the largest scale Fujian-organized inspection group to Taiwan, we will visit northern, central as well as southern Taiwan to discuss on bilateral cooperation as to promote common development. At the same time, we will introduce West Strait's development to Taiwan, bringing in measures to strengthen cooperation between Fujian and Taiwan," she said at the airport. Composed of more than 280 people from 9 groups, the delegation includes a provincial investment and inspection team and an educational exchange team, among others. They will participate in conferences and meetings to discuss logistics, industrial matching, and other areas of economic cooperation. In the evening of August 8, Chen also met with Lin Feng-cheng, vice chairman of KMT, and Chen Wu-Hsiung, director-general of Federation of Taiwan industries. |
