Updated: 2009-08-05 14:04 Fuzhou will take the lead in constructing a cross-straits industrial matching center for both sides of the Minjiang River port. Despite the backdrop of a globally weak economy, the capital city of Fujian province is still showing a recovering and stabilizing trend with the Fuzhou development zone, which realizes a GDP growth of 8.3%, 8.5% in above-scale industries. To tackle the financial crisis and maintain economic development, the Fuzhou development zone has adopted a series of transnormal polices including helping enterprises with independent innovation, offering discount loans, assisting enterprises in domestic sales and solving financing assurance problems. The city has made some achievements so far in controlling the economic downturn with efforts like the above. According to a local official, the next development objective of the Fuzhou development zone will be building a center for both sides of the strait to benefit industry cooperation. Emphasis will be placed on undertaking the transfer of Taiwan's advanced manufacturing industry and strengthening exchanges on the new high-tech industry, creative industry and modern service trade, the official said. The Fuzhou development zone will also try to enlarge the Taiwan investment area to all of Langqi Island, which will help industrial cooperation and turn the Fuzhou development zone into one of the most important production bases in China. |
