UNB sets China office in Shanghai

SHANGHAI: The Union National Bank (UNB)，one of the major banks in United Arab Emirates (UAE), on Monday (July 13) announced that it had moved its China representative office to the Shanghai World Financial Center (SWFC), a landmark high-rising building in Shanghai's Pudong area.

"We hope the office will help our UAE clients better set their footholds on the Chinese mainland," said Mahmoud Halawa, vice-president of UNB.

Bilateral trade between China and the UAE exceeded $18.5 billion in 2008. So far over 2,000 Chinese enterprises have trade links with their UAE counterparts.
