The 16,000–ton liner has a capacity for 800 passengers and 200 TEU containers. The 243 nautical miles marine journey between Weihai and Pyongtaek takes around 14 hours. Liners are scheduled to leave Weihai at 18:00 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and return from Pyongtaek at 18:00 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. "Jiao Dong Ming Zhu" - a Weihai-Pyongtaek Ro-Ro vessel is equipped with VIP, first and second class cabins and staterooms, as well as an amusement hall, bar and convenient store. The launch of the Weihai-Pyongtaek sea route - another Weihai's access to northeast Asia - will promote economic and trade cooperation and cultural exchanges between Weihai and Korea.
