Jinan lures scholars with financial support

Updated: 2009-06-19 17:12 Jinan introduced a new 100 million yuan annual scheme on June 18 to assist scholars from varies fields. Scholars in fields of - electronic communication, biomedical engineering, advanced manufacturing, new energy and materials - who have independent intellectual property rights and experience financial difficulties qualify for the scheme. The annual 100 million yuan program aims to assist talent in starting a business, conducting a research as well as helping with housing arrangements. Huang Houan, deputy director of the city's bureau of personnel, said at the June 18 press conference a series of preferential policies also have been launched to make scholars' life easier. "Jinan has launched a range of preferential policies in a bid to introduce 150 talented persons who are able to contribute to boosting the city's competitiveness and promoting the high-tech industrial development within five years," he said. Awards are also set up for those who introduce talent to the new scheme. |
