The 1st World Nine-ball Championship will hold in Shanghai

China’s “9-ball queen” Pan Xiaoting will compete with other leading players at the nation’s first international 9-ball open championship to be held here between June 8-14.

 

The event, organized by the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA) and the Shanghai sports federation, will lure over 1,000 players from more than 50 countries and regions worldwide, including world’s No 1 Ralf Souquet from Germany and world champion Fu Xiaobo from Beijing.

 

It is ranked on par with other major 9-ball events such as the US Open 9-ball Championship authorized by WPA, the event’s organizer said on Friday.
