China Flower Exposition to blossom in Shandong

Updated: 2009-04-29 11:45 The Seventh China Flower Exposition will be held in Qingzhou, East China's Shandong province, and Beijing's Shunyi district simultaneously from September 26th to October 5th. "Preparation work is well underway," Chen Baifeng, vice mayor of Weifang, said at a news conference for the exposition. The exposition will feature a 130,000 square meter trading area, providing a platform for traders with flowers and related products. To date, Qingzhou is home to 100,000 mu of planted flower areass, with nearly 100,000 people specializing in flower and flower-related industries. With a 300 million-pot annual flower output and 3 billion yuan in annual sales, Qingzhou is recognized as a "Flower Hometown" in China by the State Forestry Administration and China Flower Association. Qingzhou is listed in Shandong's top ten industry clusters and China's top 50 experimental areas of industry clusters as a center of producing potted flowers and distributing potted plants in China As a national flower gala, the China Flower Exposition features the largest scale and highest grade of flower products in China, creating a deep influence in the country's plant trade. Taking place every four years, the Exposition has been successfully held in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu six times. |
