Officials from the Hanzhong municipal government recently announced a new scheme for tourists at a news conference held on Wednesday in Xi’an, capital of Shaanxi. The new preferential policies have been eastablished in order to promote Hanzhong tourism.

“Tourists will only pay half the price for tickets to newly-opened scenic spots in Hanzhong, Shaanxi province, this year. And there will be more discounts at main tourist sites and star-rated hotels.”

The promotion is aimed at easing the impact of the world financial crisis and stimulating domestic demand, they said.

To lure more visitors, Hanzhong will open new scenic spots soon, including the newly- reconstructed Zibo Mountain, opening May 1. Another soon-to-be popular spot, the Wuzi Mountain, will also be unveiled to tourists soon.

The city is also famous for its ecological improvements and is considered to be the perfect place for living compared with other places in the same latitude.
