Dad fined over fireworks stunt for upset children

A father was fined 200 yuan ($29) after he set off fireworks on an expressway to stop his twin sons from crying in Zhengzhou, capital of Henan province, on Sunday.

The man, surnamed Lu, stopped his car at the roadside at about 9 pm to light the fireworks as his children were upset on the way back from a new year's visit to relatives. He was arrested by traffic police.

Lu was also given six points on his driving licence.
