A hardened thief, who specialized in stealing scooters, was dragged to court in the Jinshui district of Zhengzhou, capital of Henan province, on Tuesday, for a public trial.

Li Wei (not his real name), 31, was detained after he was caught red-handed in November. He's an expert lock picker.

He is suspected of stealing at least 150 scooters between September 2006 and last November and reselling them for 700 yuan ($100) and 900 yuan each.

The court has not passed a verdict yet.
