Man sues wife over her disappearances

A Beijing man tried to sue his wife for 30,000 yuan ($4,400) in compensation after she disappeared twice without a clue or explanation.

During their 10 years of marriage, they had a son together, and generally enjoyed their life together.

But since 2005, she has slipped out of their Shunyi district home twice without giving a reason. One time, she left for a year.

Ji, the husband, complained that she refused to explain her whereabouts, but she asked to divorce him without explaining herself.

They were granted a divorce once he gave up his compensation claim.
