Student under fire for killing beloved 'Garfield'

A university student who killed a stray cat that was known to many as "Garfield," is being criticized by angry cat-lovers, ever since the incident was reported online.

Many people had fed the stray that wandered around the campus of Hebei University in Shijiazhuang, Hebei province. So when it was reported that a student inserted an explosive into its mouth on Sunday and killed it, people became furious.

The culprit, Zhu, a junior at the university's Industrial and Commercial College, was questioned by police but wasn't charged.

They turned the case over to the university to take any action.
